Canton Has Some Work To Do This Week At Town Meeting
The special town meeting will deal with both road and budgetary issues on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

CANTON, CT — Local voters have some work to do this week at another town meeting, with the fate of a town road and some budget issues topping the agenda.
The special town meeting will take place Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Canton Public Library, 40 Dyer Ave.
There are two items of business that evening:

• A $200,374 transfer from the town's undesignated fund balance to finance a budget deficit in the 2023-24 general fund budget.
• The discontinuance of Brass Lantern Road as a town road.

The meeting is open to all electors in the Town of Canton and qualified taxpayers allowed to vote at town meetings.
