The Canton Parks and Recreation Department introduced the sport of disc golf to students at Canton Intermediate School Monday.
Drew Gardner, who will be teaching an upcoming 'Do-U-Disc' program for the department, let students try out the sport during recess periods Monday.
Gardner, who works for Wilderness Experiences Unlimited in Southwick, Mass., said he has been playing the sport competitively for approximately 5 years.
"I just found a need for educating kids (about the sport)," he said. "I kind of took it under my wing."
The department is offering a 5-week program for fourth through sixth graders starting Monday, May 7. Cost is $90. For more information, log on to www.cantonrec.org or call (860) 693-5808.
