Canton Memorial Day Parade: Town Looking For Vets, Groups To March
And older veterans who don't want to march can be picked up to ride in the parade instead, the town said.

CANTON, CT — The town of Canton is looking for local veterans to march — or ride — in its annual Memorial Day parade.
The parade will take place on Monday, May 30, beginning at 10 a.m., with Charles Hammond serving as grand marshal. It will be preceded with a coffee and donut reception for veterans at the Canton Community Center, beginning at 8:45 a.m.
Town officials said the number of vets participating in the parade has decreased over the last several years — likely because "many of the older veterans may not be up to marching," they said in a news release.
