
Elinor Carroll DuBois, 85, of Canton, widow of Clifford R. DuBois, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 14, 2018 at her home.
Born November 22, 1932 in Farmington, she was the daughter of the late Burton J. and Elizabeth (Gabree) Carroll. Elinor had many career interests in her life which included driving bus for Dattco Bus Co., working in her own diner in Vermont and most recently working and volunteering for the Gifts of Love in Avon and both the Canton and Avon Food Bank. Elinor was the best apple pie maker in Connecticut.
Elinor is survived by her son, Martin Carroll and his wife Karen of Farmington, her daughters, Charlene L. DuBois of Houston, MO, Mary L. Sawyer and her husband Hollis of Groveton, NH and Donna Marinelli and her husband Roger of Canton, 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by her two daughters, Kathleen Bouchard and Sandra Whitham, her brothers, Austin, Joseph, Perley, Bernard, Burton Jr., Edward and Erwin Carroll, her sister, Esther Pompa and her granddaughter, VinaAnn DuBois.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Monday (June 18) from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday (June 19) at 10:00am in The Ahern Funeral Home followed by burial in the family plot at Riverside Cemetery, Farmington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gifts of Love, P.O. Box 463, Avon, CT 06001 or to the Avon Food Bank, Social Services, 60 West Main St., Avon, CT 06001.
