“My husband and I are from Brazil, and when we moved to the States in 2008 for his job, I had to leave my family's retail business behind," said Ikonomidis. “I loved working in retail, and I missed that personal interaction with our customers.
"It took several years between prioritizing my family and looking for opportunities to get back in business, but finally in 2020, it happened. Four years later, here we are with our second location here at The Shops. We are extremely passionate about serving the communities in which we live and work, and we love partnering with wonderful organizations, like Dog Star Rescue, to help create awareness and hope for sweet adoptable puppies in need.”
Dog Star Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run dog rescue organization based in Bloomfield.
It works with shelters in southern states as well as throughout New England to save the lives of dogs who have lost their way and find themselves on death row.
