Canton Police Department Starts Using Body Cameras
"These cameras will promote accountability, transparency, and professionalism," Canton police said.
CANTON, CT — Canton officers are now wearing body cameras whenever they interact with the public, the department has announced.
In a post on Instagram, the Canton Police Department announced that officers will begin wearing body-worn cameras and will equip their patrol vehicles with cruiser dash cameras.
"These cameras will promote accountability, transparency, and professionalism by documenting officer conduct and interactions with the public," the police department said in the post.

Canton is the latest Connecticut town to implement body cameras in its police department — West Hartford, for example, started using them around a month ago.
