Canton Road Race To Impact Sunday Traffic
The Lobster Loop 5K road race Sunday will cause some morning road closures, according to police.
CANTON, CT — Prior to a wave of motorcycles invading Canton to raise money for Special Olympics, the town is hosting a 5K road race that will cause some traffic issues, the Canton Police Department said Friday.
The "Lobster Loop 5K Road Race" will take place Sunday, Aug. 27, from 7 to 10:30 a.m.
As a result, police said Dowd Avenue (between East Hill and Albany Turnpike) will be closed to all thr0ugh vehicle traffic, though businesses and residences in the area will be accessible.

Canton police will be assisting with road blocks and vehicle traffic during this event.
"Please allow extra travel time and use caution as there will be a lot of runners participating," wrote the CPD. "Expect road closures, delays and detours."
