Canton Sewers Getting Tested Next Week

Town-hired contractors will be conducting 'smoketests' to find flaws in the sewer connection system.

CANTON, CT — Canton's sewer system is getting a workover next week, with town-hired contractors slated to conduct "smoke testing" to determine flaws in connections.

The Town of Canton, in conjunction with Woodard & Curran, has contracted Flow Assessment Services to conduct sewer system smoke testing next week.

The reason for the tests is to locate sources of stormwater inflow to the sanitary system.

The testing will be performed sometime during the week of Monday, Oct. 6, through Friday, Oct. 10, and it is expected to take three or four days.
