Canton's 42nd 'Lobsterfest:' What You Need To Know

The Canton Volunteer Fire Co.'s annual 'Lobsterfest' celebration will take place in town Friday and Saturday.

CANTON, CT — If you're ready to devour buttery lobster meat this weekend, then the Canton Volunteer Fire Co. is the place to be on Friday and Saturday.

The CVFC's 42nd annual Lobsterfest is easily one of the town's most anticipated events and the fire department fundraiser is much more than just the oceanic crustacean.

But for those who are hungry, here are the details:

• It will take place Friday, Aug. 16, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the CVFC, 14 Canton Springs Road, Canton. On Saturday, Aug. 17, it will be from noon to 9:30 p.m.

• A $35 ticket gets you one full lobster, corn, New England clam chowder, and a beverage.

• For those in the family who don't like the delicacy, there are also hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, chicken fingers, etc., along with water, beer, wine, and soda.

• The event's beloved dessert bar will also be available in Ellsworth Hall on the site.

• In addition to lots of food, the event will also feature live music on Friday and Saturday and a "touch-a-truck" event for the children from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
