Canton's Aug. 13 Primary Vote: What You Need To Know
Tuesday, Aug. 13, is Connecticut's primary day, with the entire state looking to finalize a GOP senate hopeful, among other races.

CANTON, CT — Election Day is in November, but before that potentially historic day, local voters have some work to do on Aug. 13 as the ballot needs to be finalized via primaries.
Throughout Connecticut, Republicans will be deciding the GOP senatorial hopeful looking to unseat U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn.
In that primary race, Gerry Smith is taking on Matthew M. Corey for the right to oppose the incumbent.

On Tuesday, Aug. 13, the Canton Community Center, 40 Dyer Ave., will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the GOP primary.
Absentee ballots are available in the town clerk's office.

Early voting will begin on Monday, Aug. 5, and run through Sunday, Aug. 11, at the Canton Community Center as well.
