Dog Abandoned In Woods In Canton, Then Hit By Car: ACO
The 1-year-old dog is recovering while local police are investigating.

CANTON, CT — Canton police are investigating after a 1-year-old dog was found after being abandoned in the woods, locked in a crate, and then, upon the dog's escape, it was hit by a car.
Incredibly, the dog is still alive and is being treated by a local veterinarian, officials said.
According to the Burlington & Canton Animal Control Department, investigators are looking for the owners of the "intact, male, terrier mix."

Authorities said the cute dog was found in the woods near the intersection of Route 44 and Sterling Drive, on the Farmington River side of the roadway.
Officials said the dog "was left in a crate with some food, from which he escaped."

The animal control department said the little canine was hit by a car crossing Route 44.
The dog had no collar, no tags, and no microchip.
While the dog recovers, officials said it is not available for adoption at this time.
