Dumping Your Christmas Tree In Canton, What You Need To Know

With Christmas now over, January is the month when folks must take down and dispose of their natural trees.

CANTON, CT — The new year has arrived and that means it is now time to take down that symbol of last year's Christmas holiday.

The Canton Department of Public Works will pick up Canton residents’ Christmas trees curbside, free of charge, through Jan. 13, 2025.

Residents are asked to place their tree near the public road no later than that day and all ornaments and tinsel must be removed.

Then, the DPW will begin collection on Jan. 13, weather permitting.

There is no charge to town residents who bring their Christmas tree to the transfer station through the end of January.
