Released Images Show Intensity Of Canton House Fire Sunday, One FF Hurt: FD: UPDATE

According to the Red Cross, three adults and three children were impacted by the fully involved house fire in Collinsville.

CANTON, CT — One family was impacted in the Collinsville section of Canton after a fire broke out at a residence there, with one firefighter suffering injuries during the blaze.

According to the American Red Cross, one family, comprised of three adults and three children, was being assisted after a fire struck their Wright Road home in Collinsville on Sunday evening.

The Town of Canton Fire & EMS Department Monday night, said, initially, responders were concerned someone was trapped inside the inferno.

"While units were en route, dispatch received information indicating that occupants might still be inside the residence," wrote the fire department.

"Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a heavily involved structure fire with significant fire conditions throughout the building."

Canton Fire & EMS said one occupant was assisted from the home by fire department personnel.

Automatic mutual aid was sent from surrounding fire departments to support fire suppression and tanker water supply operations, the department wrote.

The Canton Fire & EMS Department said one firefighter suffered minor injuries.

"During the incident, one firefighter’s leg went through a fire-damaged section of flooring," wrote the department. "The firefighter was evaluated on-scene by EMS crews and did not require transport."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Canton Fire Marshal’s Office.
