'Gifts For Canton' Campaign Ensures Happy Holidays For Locals
The ongoing collection drive for gift cards, funds, and toys is being organized by the Canton Senior & Community Services Department.
CANTON, CT — The Town of Canton is pulling out all stops this holiday season to ensure those in need locally can still have holiday gifts for loved ones.
The initiative is called "Gifts for Canton" and it is being overseen by the Canton Senior & Social Services Department.
Currently, there is a major collection drive for funds, gift cards, and toys for children, with toys for those 12 and under requested and gift cards for those 13 and over.

The drive has been ongoing since Nov. 1 and it will continue until Thursday, Dec. 5, next week.
There are two local collection sites for this effort:

• Canton Senior & Social Services, 40 Dyer Ave.
• Canton Town Hall, 4 Market St.
Meanwhile, Canton's police and emergency responders will host a major donation/toy drive on Saturday, Dec. 7, at two locations.
The Canton Police Department that day will have a "Stock the Cruiser" event collecting toys/gifts at The Shops at Farmington Valley in Canton (110 Albany Turnpike, Canton).
In addition, the Canton Emergency Response Team will host a collection drive at Ocean State Job Lot (133 River Road).
Those two collection drives will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
