Major Traffic Impacts Expected In Canton For Upcoming 'Dream Ride'
The three-day festival that benefits a prominent nonprofit will feature motorcycle and classic car cruises through the area this weekend.
CANTON, CT — Canton motorists can expect to see a plethora of motorcycles on the road on Sunday as part of a special charity celebration in Farmington for a regional nonprofit.
On Saturday, Aug. 3, the annual "Dream Ride Experience" motorcycle ride will take a police-escorted, 40-mile ride hosted by the Hometown Foundation in Cheshire.
The riders will depart the Farmington Polo Club at 11 a.m. and go on a lengthy excursion through several area towns, including Canton.

The ride is expected to be back in Farmington by 2 p.m., the Canton Police Department wrote Thursday.
According to the CPD, the motorcycle convoy will be:

• Entering Canton via West Simsbury Road (Route 309)
• Turning right onto Route 179 North toward Barkhamsted
• Re-entering Canton from Route 44 East (from New Hartford)
• Continuing onto River Road (Route 179 South) to Bridge Street to Route 179 South (Burlington Avenue) toward Burlington and Farmington.
"Drivers should expect traffic delays in these areas. We encourage motorists to plan ahead, use alternate routes if possible, and allow extra travel time," wrote the Canton PD.
"We appreciate your patience and cooperation as our community helps support this annual charitable event."
