Meet A Penguin (For Real) At Canton Public Library

The local library next week is hosting a free program featuring a 'penguin ambassador' from the Mystic Aquarium.

CANTON, CT — With school out on Election Day Tuesday, Nov. 4, it's the perfect time for the Canton Public Library to host a special guest of the ornithological variety.

In fact, the library at 40 Dyer Ave. is hosting a "Penguin Ambassador" from the Mystic Marinelife Aquarium in Mystic at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4.

There, guests can meet one of Mystic Aquarium’s resident African penguins up close and learn from their trainers how they care for and protect these amazing Endangered Species.

"This one-of-a-kind outreach program brings the Aquarium to you, offering an unforgettable and educational experience for all ages," wrote the library.

Registration for the free program is open to students in grades 4–12 until Saturday, Nov. 1.

After Nov. 1, any remaining spots will open to grade 3 students and adults.

All attendees, including adults, must be registered individually.
