Canton police are warning folks to be aware of the town's winter weather parking ban taking effect this weekend due to the snowstorm.

CANTON, CT — Canton police Friday warned residents to be ready to abide by expected parking bans due to the snowstorm predicted for Saturday into Sunday.
The Canton Police Department said the annual overnight parking ban is in effect on all town streets.

According to police, residents may use the Canton Town Hall lot for parking between 4:30 pm and 6:30 a.m.
All vehicles using the town hall parking lot for overnight parking mustremove their cars from the lot by 6:30 a.m. to allow for effective plowing during snow events.

Residents using the lot overnight must notify the police dispatcher at 860-693-0221 and supply their marker plate number as well as phone number(s) where they may be reached.
If you have had a parking exemption in the past, you must renew it every year, police said.
Cars parked on the streets overnight during the parking ban are subject to ticketing and may be towed.
