Popular Canton Park Under Siege From Invasive Plants

The town is organizing a work detail this weekend for folks to rid the beloved town park of invasive weeds.

CANTON, CT — Folks are invited to come down to a beloved Canton park this Saturday to beautify it and make sure invasive plants are eradicated there.

Residents and master gardeners will be cutting invasive Japanese knotweed at Mills Pond Park on East Hill Road near the town's Peace Pole.

The job will last from 9 a.m. to noon at the park, which is located at 14 East Hill Road.

Participants are asked to bring hand clippers and/or loppers and help cut this invasive plant crowding out beneficial native plants on town land.
