Route 44 Study Eyes Improvements In Canton

CANTON, CT — The Town of Canton and the Capitol Region Council of Governments (CROG) have released a draft report of Route 44 in Canton and what is necessary to make it safer and easier to navigate.

CRCOG officials this week said a draft final report of the Route 44 Corridor Study, dated March 27, 2025, is now available for public review and comment.

The public comment period ends Wednesday, April 30.

This study has been undertaken by CRCOG, with funding from the state Department of Transportation, and prepared by the consulting firm Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. (VHB) under the direction of CRCOG.
