Saturday Storms Hit Canton Hard
Canton was one of the more hard-hit towns in central Connecticut as a line of spring thunderstorms moved through the area Saturday.
CANTON, CT — Saturday's springtime line of thunderstorms hit Canton particularly hard, with some roadways closed and trees down.
Town of Canton Fire & EMS Department, as well as the Canton Police Department, were out in full force Saturday afternoon/evening for "multiple storm incidents throughout town."
According to fire and police officials, particularly hard hit were Cherry Brook Road and North Mountain Road, which were closed for much of the day Saturday.

In addition, fire officials said, Case Street was closed to all traffic, as was Breezy Hill Road in spots.
Power outages were also reported in Canton through Sunday.

By Monday morning, travel in Canton appeared to have returned to normal, with roads reopening and the power turned on.
