Storm Recovery Continues In Hard-Hit Canton
Canton officials said Thursday there are downed trees and powerlines throughout town.

CANTON, CT — Local officials Thursday are warning residents to be patient and exercise caution as Canton recovers from Wednesday night's severe thunderstorms.
According to the town, there are multiple downed power lines and trees blocking roadways throughout Canton.
Officials said the town's public works department and Eversource are "working hard to keep up with clearing the debris and restoring power.

"Please avoid any unnecessary travel and avoid downed power lines," wrote Canton officials.
Roads currently impacted are: High Street; West Mountain Road; Dyer Avenue; Route 309 - West Simsbury Road; and Gildersleeve Road.

In addition, town email is down, but phones are working normally.
