Street Parking Ban Implemented In Canton Ahead Of Snowstorm
The on-street parking ban begins at 8 p.m. Friday and runs through 8 a.m. Sunday, town officials said.

CANTON, CT — Ahead of this weekend's snowstorm, the town of Canton has announced a parking ban.
From 8 p.m. Friday through 8 a.m. Sunday, no one will be allowed to park overnight on town streets — even those who have an exemption for overnight parking, town officials said. Any cars parked on town streets overnight may be ticketed.
Residents can park in the Town Hall parking lot for the duration of the ban, officials said. Anyone who parks there must call the police dispatcher at 860-693-0221 and supply their license plate number and contact information.

"Residents with a significant hardship affecting compliance may contact the Canton Police Department ... for guidance," town officials said.
The town is also reminding homeowners and contractors that they should not plow snow into town roads.

Hartford County, which includes Canton, is expected to get 7 to 15 inches of snow on Saturday, with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour possible. Wind gusts could reach 45 miles an hour.
