Unique Craft Swap Event In Canton To Aid Area Artists

Operating like an auto parts swap meet, the Canton Public Library's 'Craft Supply Swap' allows crafters to find and unload supplies.

CANTON, CT — Car lovers are known to have attended an auto parts swap meet or two to stock up and/or unload auto parts in their collection.

Saturday, the Canton Public Library, 40 Dyer Ave., Canton, is hosting an event similar to that, only instead of brake pads and carburetors, this swap meet will feature unopened paint, glue guns, and brushes.

Right now, donations for the annual Canton Craft Supply Swap are being collected.

The event will provide crafters with a unique opportunity to find something they need and unload something someone else may need.

Participants can drop off donations for the swap on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. or Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.

All donors will receive an "early bird ticket" to the swap.

The library asks crafters to only donate materials in good, reusable condition — no open containers of paint, glue, or other similar materials.

On the day of the event, Saturday, March 23, the swap is open to "early bird ticket holders" from 10 to 11 a.m. and to everyone else from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The swap is free.

Those with questions should email Canton Public Library Director Sarah McCusker at smccusker@townofcantonct.org.
