National Book Award Winner Carlos Eire to Speak in Cheshire

Event on Nov. 3 includes book signing and presentation, music, reception and art exhibit.

Noted author Carlos Eire will talk about his new book "Learning to Die in Miami" on Thurs., Nov. 3 as part of Cheshire Public Library's program Cheshire Reads: One Book, One Town.

Eire's presentation at 7 p.m. will be preceded by an hour long concert of Cuban music by Mikata of New Haven. A reception catered by New Haven restaurant Zafra will follow the event.

From Nov. 1 - 5, a painting exhibit called "Picturing Cuba" by Maryellen Considine of Cheshire and a photography exhibit by Hank Paper of Best Video in Hamden will round out the event.
