Cheshire Resident Earns GNAC Honor After Standout Week
The Cheshire High School graduate has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's Rookie of the Week.
CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire’s Karla Carangelo, a freshman on the Albertus Magnus College women’s softball team, was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for her performance in games played through Sunday, April 27, officials announced.
Carangelo, a Cheshire High School graduate, put together a standout week at the plate to help the Falcons to a 4-2 record.
She batted .563 (9-for-16) with a .682 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. She racked up three doubles, one triple, eight runs scored, and also had three stolen bases across the six games.

Carangelo's steady presence in the lineup played a key role in the Falcons' strong finish to the regular season.
Carangelo has posted a team-best slash line of .407/.485/.636 this season for the Falcons.
