CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire's Karla Carangelo, a freshman on the Albertus Magnus College women's softball team, was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for her performance in games played through Sunday, March 30, officials announced Monday. <a href="https://www.albertusfalcons.com/sports/sball/2024-25/bios/carangelo_karla_r674" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Carangelo</a>, a Cheshire High School graduate, batted .500 with three extra-base hits, including her first career home run in a 4-2 week for the Falcons. She also collected four strikeouts in two games of relief work (2.1 innings pitched). In a doubleheader against USJ on Sunday, she was a combined 5-for-6 with four RBIs and three runs scored. Carangelo leads the team with a .415 batting average and two home runs.
