Downed Trees Close Roads In Cheshire

CHESHIRE, CT — Police are advising motorists of road closures due to downed trees in Cheshire.

In an update around 2:30 p.m., police reported that Jarvis Street between Lancaster Way and Peck Lane is now closed due to wires down.

Blacks Road between Highland Avenue and Wolf Hill Road is impassable due to a large tree and power lines down, according to police.

Police said the blocked portion is in the area of the storage facility.

“Eversource has been notified and will be responding as soon as possible,” police wrote in a post on Facebook.

Police are advising motorists to use alternate routes.

Jill Lane near the Jinny Hill Road intersection was also temporarily closed due to a downed tree on power lines, according to police.
