Obituary: Thomas J. “Tuna” Horvath, 72, of Cheshire
Tom, an avid fisherman and former Cheshire softball umpire, worked for Kurtz Farms and served as a forklift operator for Sealy Mattress.

CHESHIRE, CT - (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home) Thomas J. “Tuna” Horvath, age 72, of Cheshire entered into rest on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at home after a long illness.
Tom was born on August 27, 1948 in New Haven, son of the late Stephen and Lucy (Denicola) Horvath and was a lifelong Cheshire resident.
Tom was a forklift operator for Sealy Mattress until their closure and was most recently employed with Kurtz Farms in Cheshire, and was a former umpire for Cheshire Softball.
Tom was at peace when he was fishing, whether it be freshwater or ocean, and he enjoyed many fishing trips to New Jersey with his cousin. He was also passionate about music, especially Doo-wop and the Oldies.
Tom is the beloved father of Randee Horvath of Cheshire. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Alyssa and Dakota; his brother, John Horvath of Plantsville; several loving nieces; his former wife, Deborah Mane of Bantam; and his adored dog, Coco. Tom was predeceased by his sons, Thomas Horvath Jr. and Ryan Horvath.
Services for Tom will be private and at the convenience of his family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire has been entrusted with his care. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
