- DMV’s Hamden Office, located at 1985 State Street, will be closed from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. The office will open to the public at 1 p.m. and close at its normal time of 4 p.m.
The reduced hours will allow DMV employees to be trained for the new month SelectCT ID program which begins in October.
The program provides the option of a verified identity for anyone renewing driver licenses and DMV-issued identification cards. This verification involves a review of primary identity documents, such as a birth certificate or passport.

Through the SelectCT ID program, the department will ask renewing customers whether they want to show original identity documents to establish a record of their identity with the agency as well as for federal identification purposes. Customers can also reject the verification and simply get a regular driver's license or ID card.
