$15 in Coins, Argument Leads to Crash at Danbury Gas Station: Report
One man who was reportedly seen arguing at the Shell gas station in Danbury crashed into a post rolling over his vehicle.
DANBURY, CT — Two women in a SUV were transported to Danbury Hospital Tuesday after the driver of the vehicle crashed into a light pole, causing the vehicle to rollover at a North Street gas station Tuesday after a verbal argument with another driver, according to The News Times.
Witnesses told police that a man in a Honda Pilot pulled away from the gas pump at a high rate of speed and crashed after arguing with a man in an Audi who was also fighting with the gas station attendant after trying to buy gas with $15 in coins, the paper reported.
According to AAA, eight out of 10 drivers surveyed in the AAA Foundation’s annual Traffic Safety culture Index rank aggressive driving as a “serious” or “extremely serious” risk that jeopardizes their safety. Aggressive driving accounts for more than half of all traffic fatalities, AAA said, and a single aggressive act by one driver can trigger escalating responses from other drivers.
