19-Year-Old Caught with Child Porn Arrested at Danbury Hotel

The Guest Services Manager of a Danbury hotel told police a housekeeper found a phone in a room and saw child porn on the phone.

Danbury — An Oklahoma man was charged with third degree possession of child pornography on June 22 after Danbury Police were sent to the La Quinta Inn on Newtown Road, according to a police report.

Upon arrival, officers met with the Guest Services Manager who told police that a housekeeper found a cell phone in the sheets of a room, police said. The manager opened the phone in an attempt to identify the owner and saw photos of child pornography, officers stated.

Gerardo Vazquez-Gonzalez, 19, of Tulsa, Oklahoma later came to the front desk claiming he had lost his phone. Police responded and, after speaking with him, he identified the phone as his and admitted to downloading the child porn.

Vazquez-Gonzalez was arrested and charged with third degree possession of child pornography and held on $250,000.00 bond, police said.
