2 Arrested for Crack Cocaine Possession at Danbury Motel

BREAKING: Two Danbury residents were arrested for a number of drug-related offenses at a Danbury Motel on Wednesday after an investigation.

DANBURY, CT — The City of Danbury Special Investigations Division arrested two Danbury residents on Wednesday after Danbury police received complaints of activity with drug use at Holiday Inn Express Motel on Mill Plain Road in Danbury.

Aderito “Derrek” Mota, 30, and Alexis Paige Brown, 24, were arrested on August 24, 2016, by members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (S.I.D.) and Community Conditions Unit (C.C.U.) after an executed court authorized search and seizure warrant for a hotel room located at 89 Mill Plain Rd, Danbury, and the person of Aderito Mota.

The search warrants were issued based on tips from the community, which indicated Mota was selling illegal drugs from the hotel. Surveillance of the area as well as other investigative techniques revealed activity at the hotel by Mota was consistent with drug trafficking. Police said this was the second drug investigation involving Mota within the past year. Investigators arrested him less than 12 months ago for drug trafficking within the City of Danbury, according to police.

During the course of executing the search warrant, Alexis Brown and a third party were in the room when officers Mota and Brown were found to be in possession of crack cocaine packaged for sale, drug records and drug paraphernalia. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the police department where they were charged with a number offenses, according to Danbury Police Lt. Mark Williams.

Aderito Mota was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $25,000.

Alexis Brown was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $10,000.
