A video of the car presentations has amassed over 100,000 views.

BETHEL, CT — Three Bethel graduates are the proud owners of new cars. Todd Ingersoll, owner of Ingersoll Auto of Danbury, awarded three cars to the winner of an essay challenge he gave to the graduates of BHS.

"We couldn't pick just one essay, so we picked three," read a post from the dealership on Facebook."Today we awarded three vehicles to deserving members of Bethel High! Your essays were all so touching, and we're honored to be able to help you succeed."

Ingersoll challenged students during his commencement speech to write a two-page essay explaining why they were "uniquely deserving of a new car." Ingersoll said the dealership got 60 "fabulous" essays.

"They did a fantastic job," said Ingersoll in a Facebook Live video. "They really really did."

In a video posted July 7, Ingersoll drove around to the three winners and awarded them the cars. The purpose of the contest was to illustrate that in life there are winners and losers, and that not everyone can win, according to Ingersoll.
