Danbury Farmers Market Opens With New Hours And Community Events
Danbury Farmers Market kicks off with new hours, live music, kids' activities and over 15 local vendors.
DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Farmers Market will kick off its 2025 season on Saturday, June 21, with a grand opening event featuring local vendors, live music, and family-friendly activities at CityCenter Green.
Now operating on a new schedule, the market will run Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 18 at 1 Ives St. Organizers said the earlier start time is designed to attract more visitors and encourage weekend foot traffic in downtown Danbury.
“This market not only supports local farmers and businesses but also provides a space for the community to come together and enjoy the best of what our region has to offer,” said Lazaro Chavez, executive director of CityCenter Danbury. “There’s something for everyone at the farmers market.”

More than 15 vendors from across Connecticut are expected to participate, offering items such as fresh produce, eggs, flowers, plants, baked goods, handmade crafts, jewelry, and local wine. A special "Vendor Spotlight" section will highlight the range of goods available.
The grand opening celebration will begin with a ceremonial bell ringing featuring local officials and guests. Live acoustic music will be performed by Christian Aja, whose fingerstyle guitar performance is set to provide the day’s musical backdrop.

Children’s activities will also be available at the Kid’s Corner, with games and programming aimed at younger visitors. Organizers are encouraging families to bring their children and enjoy the festivities together.
The market is scheduled to operate rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, it will relocate to Level 4 of the Patriot Garage at 21 Delay St. Shoppers will receive two hours of courtesy parking courtesy of the Danbury Farmers Market.
The weekly event is a longstanding tradition in Danbury and is part of the city’s broader initiative to support local agriculture, artisans, and community health. Organizers say the market also serves as a platform for community engagement, entertainment, and education.
