Danbury Police Officer Dies Unexpectedly At Age 39, Mourned
The Police Department announced the tragic news with "great sadness."

DANBURY, CT — The City of Danbury Police Department shared news on Saturday that a police officer died unexpectedly at the age of 39.
"It is with great sadness that we share the following message from Chief Patrick Ridenhour. We are mourning the loss of one of our own, Officer Dominic Barthelemy, who passed away unexpectedly on the evening of October 23, 2025 in upstate New York," police said in a statement. "Officer Barthelemy, 39, was a member of the Danbury Police Department for a little more than two years where he mainly worked the overnight shift in the Patrol Division. Before coming to Danbury in 2023, he previously served for two years as a police officer in New York City and for nearly one year with the NYC Department of Corrections. Please keep Officer Barthelemy’s family, friends, and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers. We ask for privacy during this difficult time."
"The Danbury Fire Department stands with our family at the City of Danbury Police Department," the fire department posted on social media.
