Danbury Police Seize Narcotics, Cash During Michael Street Raid

Danbury police seized fentanyl, cocaine, and cash during a drug investigation at a Michael Street residence.

DANBURY, CT — Authorities seized fentanyl, cocaine, cash, and other items following the execution of search and seizure warrants at a Michael Street apartment on April 21, according to Danbury police.

The investigation, led by the department’s Special Investigations Division with support from multiple units and a Bethel police officer, was initiated in response to citizen complaints of suspected narcotics activity at the residence.

During the operation, detectives made a forced entry into the apartment at 13 Michael Street. The primary subject of the investigation, identified as 56-year-old Akrim Danzy, attempted to flee to the bathroom but was quickly located and detained, according to police spokesperson Erin Henry.

A search of the residence and Danzy led to the seizure of approximately 130 bags of fentanyl, 16 grams of cocaine, 11 Buprenorphine films, $770 in cash, and two electronic scales.

Danzy faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic substance with intent to sell, and possession of a narcotic substance over one ounce with intent to sell. His bond was set at $250,000.

Two other Danbury residents found in the residence were also taken into custody on outstanding warrants. Jhenniffer Alves-Dasilva, 25, of Kingswood Road, was detained on three failure to appear warrants with a total bond of $30,000. Warren Hawkins, 53, of Rowan Street, was charged with first-degree harassment and threatening with a firearm. He was released on a promise to appear.

The investigation remains ongoing.
