According to police, the fraudulent messages may ask recipients for assistance. Authorities said anyone who receives such a text should not reply. Suspicious phone calls should also be disconnected immediately, and personal or financial information should never be shared. Police urged residents to report suspicious texts to the Danbury Police Department at 203-797-4611.
