Danbury Railway Museum Hosting Annual Pumpkin Patch Train Rides This October
Ride vintage trains to the Pumpkin Patch at Danbury Railway Museum in October, with pumpkins, cider, Storytime Express, and more.

DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Railway Museum will once again host its annual Pumpkin Patch Train rides over three weekends in October, offering families a short vintage train ride, a pumpkin, and seasonal activities.
The event, known as "The Husking Bee" Pumpkin Patch Train, runs Oct. 11-12, 18-19, and 25-26. Trains depart at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. from the museum at 120 White St. On Saturdays, a twilight ride at 6:30 p.m. will include special activities, while the 11 a.m. Saturday departures feature a Storytime Express. Children under age 2 ride free.
Passengers travel in 1920s coaches pulled by a 77-year-old ALCo RS-1 diesel-electric locomotive, or another historic engine if available, through the museum’s railyard to a seasonal pumpkin patch. Each rider receives a free pumpkin, cider and cookies. The event also includes photo opportunities, a vintage tractor, and the return of a “haunted caboose.”
