Danbury Ranks #30 Among Top CT Communities to Own a Home

New report by Nerd Wallet ranks Danbury #30 best places for homeownership. Do you agree? Tell us in the comments.

Danbury recently received the distinction of being ranked the thirtieth best town in Connecticut for homeownership by consumer advocacy website NerdWallet.

The site analyzed 60 Connecticut communities based on affordability (median selected monthly homeowner costs, median monthly household income and costs as percent of income) and population growth (homeownership rate and 2010-12 population growth), as well as median home values. The result is an overall score, ranging from 79 (Glastonbury Center) to 30.4 (Greenwich).

In their full report, NerdWallet gave Danbury an overall score of 62.3 percent. Danbury has a homeownershp rate of 61.8 percent, the average monthly homeowner costs are $2,253 and the estimated median home value is $317,200.
