Danbury Woman Faces Multiple Drug Charges Following Search
A 70-year-old Danbury woman is facing drug and probation violation charges after police executed multiple search warrants at her residence.
DANBURY, CT — A 70-year-old Danbury woman is facing a series of drug-related charges following a court-authorized search of her apartment, police said Wednesday.
According to the Danbury Police Department, detectives from the Special Investigations Division executed search and seizure warrants on April 15 at an apartment at 27 Foster Street, and on the person of Vera Ribeiro-Menezes. Authorities said the apartment has been the subject of prior investigations involving narcotics activity.
Detectives had previously executed search warrants at the same location on April 4, resulting in multiple charges related to possession and sale of narcotics. Following that incident, law enforcement officials said they received additional reports indicating that drug sales were continuing at the address.

On April 15, officers entered the apartment and located Ribeiro-Menezes, who was taken into custody on two active warrants. During a subsequent search of the residence, police said they recovered a quantity of cocaine. She remains in custody on a combined bond of $500,000.
Ribeiro-Menezes is facing charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell, sale of narcotics, and possession of a controlled substance within 200 feet of a school. She is also charged with violation of probation.
