John J. Vitti of Danbury Passed Away Peacefully

Mr. Vitti worked as a mason in Stamford for many years and was a member of the Labor Union Local 449 in Stamford for over 40 years.

Danbury, CT — Mr. John J. Vitti of Danbury, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Sunday, June 12th.

Mr. Vitti was educated in the Stamford school system and worked as a mason in Stamford, for many years. He was a member of the Labor Union Local 449 in Stamford for over 40 years.

Born on February 8, 1928, he was the devoted son of Giovanni Rosario and Josephine Acquila Vitti. His brother, Nunzio Vitti, predeceased him.

His wonderful wife of over 50 years was Dorothy Eberhardt Vitti who passed away on February 25, 1998. They were the proud parents of two sons, John Vitti (Andrea ) and Ronald Vitti (Diana), both of Danbury Connecticut.

He is also loved and survived by three sisters, Jo-Ann D'Agostino Connelly (John Connelly) Old Saybrook, Connecticut; Mrs. Emily (Albert) Inzitari, Oxford, Connecticut, and Mrs. Theresa (Robert) Brill, Deer Park, Long Island, New York.He had five beautiful grandchildren, John Vitti II (Terri-Ann), Hudson, Massachusetts; Brian Vitti Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Michael Vitti (Natalie), North Liberty, Iowa; Devin John Vitti, Danbury, Connecticut and Ronny Jeanette Vitti , Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition, he had eight great children, John Vitti, III, and Haley Vitti, Hudson, Massachusetts; Jaiden, Kolbe and Elijah Curtis, Las Vegas, Nevada; Torre Vitti and Trey Vitti of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Brody Vitti, North Liberty, Iowa.

In addition he leaves behind several nieces and nephews who were privileged and honored to call him Uncle Vitti.

John Vitti was a very special individual – a gentle giant of a man. A loving son, devoted husband, proud and selfless father, a wonderful and generous brother, enormously loved grandfather and great grandfather; a thoughtful and supportive uncle and friend, a man of abiding faith who was humble and peaceful. A man truly beyond description……. He was so much to so many people.

A Mass of Christian burial in celebration of his life was held on June 16 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 115 Main Street , Danbury. Burial was at St. Mary Cemetery in Ridgefield, immediately following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family would sincerely appreciate donations in John Vitti's memory be sent directly to Regional Hospice and Home Care Center for Comfort Care and Healing, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT 06810, for their excellent care, strong support, dedication, knowledge and outpouring love for Mr. Vitti and the members of his family. You will be forever in our hearts.
