Longtime Beaver Brook Fire Department Volunteer Firefighter Duane G. Schirmer, Sr., 86, Passed Away

Danbury, CT — Duane G. Schirmer, Sr., 86, of Danbury, beloved husband of Rose (Romaine) Schirmer, passed away peacefully at Glen Hill Rehabilitation Center, Saturday, June 11, 2016.

Duane was born in Danbury, son of the late Waldomar and Gertrude Schirmer. He was a graduate of the Henry Abbott Technical School and had worked in Maintenance and HVAC for the Perkin Elmer Company, prior to retirement. He had been longtime member of the Beaver Brook Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his wife Rose, he is survived by his son Duane G. Schirmer, Jr. and his wife Vittoria A. Crea, of Danbury, his granddaughter Melissa A.R. Schirmer of Danbury and his sister Allouise Straiton of New Fairfield.

There will be no calling hours. Services will be private.
