Man to Face Weapon Charges for Having Loaded Gun at Danbury Shelter
Jeffrey Demayo's loaded gun was seized by police after witnesses said he dropped it on the floor at Dorothy Day Hospital House Tuesday.

A Danbury man will face weapons charges after witnesses said he dropped a revolver on the floor of a Danbury shelter Tuesday.
Jeffrey Demayo, 48, of Danbury, was arrested Tuesday and charged with breach of peace, carrying a pistol without a permit and criminal possession of a firearm, according to a police news release.
Officers were advised a male inside Dorothy Day Hospitality House, located at 11 Spring St. in Danbury, dropped a revolver on the floor in front of several witnesses, according to a police news release.

Officers found Demayo outside of the shelter, where he admitted to having the revolver, which was loaded and seized by police.
Demayo was released on $500 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 9.
