In Memory of Antoinette (Cortese) Catino, 89, of Danbury

Mrs. Catino passed away on May 24. She was attended St. Peter Church of Danbury.

DANBURY, CT — Antoinette (Cortese) Catino, 89, of Danbury, formerly of Stamford, wife of the late Carmen Catino, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Danbury Hospital. Mrs. Catino was born in Stamford, March 22, 1927, a daughter of John and Rose (Monte) Cortese.

She attended Stamford schools and graduated from Stamford High School. A retired salesperson in the fashion and dress department with the former Caldor Store, Mrs. Catino was one of the earliest employees of Caldor. She then became a salesperson with Family Owned Bridal Salon of Stamford.

A resident of Danbury since 1993 coming from Stamford, Mrs. Catino was a former member of Sacred Heart Parish of Stamford and attended St. Peter Church of Danbury.

She loved crocheting, music and most especially, the time shared with her family. Mrs. Catino is survived by a daughter, Diane Sadowski of Danbury; a son, John Catino of Milford, CT and by three grandchildren, Amy Sadowski, Leonard Sadowski Jr. and Chelsey Lynn Ripperger and her husband, Charles. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Catino was predeceased by a son in law, Leonard M. Sadowski, Sr., two sisters, Louise Conetta (Patsy) and Victoria Tassitano (John) and by three brothers, Samuel Cortese (Carmella), Salvatore Cortese (Rose) and Joseph Cortese (Sylvia). A

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at St. Peter Church in Danbury. Interment followed in St. John's Cemetery in Darien.
