Mom of 19-Month-Old Baby Killed by Dad Says He Should 'Rot in Prison': Report

The distraught mother of a 19-month-old baby boy spoke in court Tuesday after the father of her baby was sentenced for his death.

DANBURY — Jacqueline Baskay, mother of a 19-month-old Ayden who died while in the care of his father, said in court on Tuesday that “ten years in prison for a child killer isn’t justice. Christian deserves to rot in jail for the rest of his life,” according to a report on The News Times.

Almost three years after his son's death, Christian Williams was sentenced to 22 years in prison, suspended after 10 years, for killing his toddler, Ayden Baskay. He pleaded guilty earlier this year to second-degree manslaughter and two counts of risk of injury to a minor for killing his son on Sept. 29, 2013, while babysitting, according to the report.

Williams was arrested on Oct. 1, 2013 and charged with first-degree manslaughter and risk of injury to a minor. An autopsy done by the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner showed the cause of the baby's death was homicide due to blunt-force trauma to the head and subdural hemorrhaging.
