Two Danbury residents were charged with narcotics crimes Tuesday at about 9 a.m. by the Community Conditions Unit of the Danbury Police Department

Following drug surveillance by the Danbury Community Conditions Unit on Padanaram Road, Danbury Police charged Madeline Velez, 43, of Osborne Street, with criminal attempt to sell narcotics, possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell. The incident happened Tuesday a few minutes after 9 a.m. She was released on a $10,000 bond for an appearance in Danbury Superior Court on Dec. 6.
At the same time, Danbury Police charged Corinne Fay, 25, of Liberty Avenue, Danbury, with criminal attempt to possess narcotics. Fay was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Dec. 10.
Danbury Police provided this information. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.
