Obituary: Stephen Paul Fusek, 94, of Danbury
He will be remembered by many for his dry wit, and kind and loving soul.

Steven Paul Fusek died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on 6/17/2017 in Danbury CT. at the age of 94. Steve was born on 6/30/1922 in Danbury to John and Anna (Holic) Fusek. He was one of 12 children- being the middle child. He graduated from Danbury High School in 1941. He then went in the army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge, Invasion of Normandy, Battle of Ardennes, Crossing of the Rhine, and Northern France. He graduated from Becker Community College. He worked for Connecticut Light & Power for 35 years until he retired. He married Betty Fusek and had 3 children.
His life revolved around his god, his church, his wife, children, grandchildren and his siblings. He was a humble hero who enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and UConn Football. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at Veterans of War and the Catholic War Veterans. Along with his loving wife of 57 years, Betty: he is also survived by his children Leigh (Ahmed) Bekhet, Stephen (Laura) Fusek, MaryBeth (Nils) Burkstrom, grandchildren Vanessa and Brittany Fusek and Nickolas and Jenna Burkstrom.
Steve was predeceased by his parents Anna and John Fusek, sisters, Anna, Betty, Mildred, and Christine, brother, John, brother in laws James Garvey, Peter Jurenka and Francis Duda. He is also survived by his siblings Edward (Jean) Fusek, Alice Jurenka, Irene Fusek, Paul (Mary Sue) Fusek, Emil (Jacqueline) Fusek, Ruth Locke and many loving nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by many for his dry wit, and kind and loving soul.

Family and friends are encouraged to call to St Paul's Lutheran Church, 44 Spring Street Danbury, CT on Thursday June 22, 2017 for visitation from 11:00 – 12:00 pm. A celebration of life will take place at St. Paul's Lutheran church immediately following visitation on Thursday June 22, 2017 at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place immediately after church services at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church 46 Spring St., Danbury or Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, 30 Milestone Rd., Danbury.
