Old Timers Association Baseball Coach Leo J. Denault, Sr. 76, of Danbury, Passed Away

He graduated from St. Peters school where he was an altar boy and an accomplished athlete participating, and winning awards in many sports.

DANBURY, CT — Leo J. Denault, Sr. 76, of Danbury CT passed away on Friday, May 27th due to complications from a fall.

Leo was the son of Leo W. Denault of Lowell, MA and Genevieve Donnelly of Danbury, CT.

He is survived by his son, Leo J. Denault, Jr. of New Milford and Cathryn E. Denault of Woodbury, and five grandchildren, Racheal, Dan, Thomas, and Joseph Denault, all of New Milford, and Brandi Lemke of Old Saybrook. Leo leaves behind three sisters, Janice Pickert of Bethel, Michelle Erickson of Dover, NY and Barbara McPherson of Florida (predeceased).

Leo graduated from St. Peters school where he was an altar boy and was an accomplished athlete participating in all sports including basketball, baseball, duck-pin bowling and was also an avid golfer. Leo won many awards for his athletic abilities over the years.

Leo began his early career at Bard Parker, Sikorsky Aircraft, Perkin Elmer and most recently at Gen-El-Mec in Oxford where he worked for over 30 years, up until his death.

In 2003, he was honored by the "Old Timers Association" in Danbury for his athletic accomplishments and for his coaching contributions to many generations, both old and young.

Leo had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke and would often share them with his friends and family, and delighted in making others laugh. He was a regular at "Mac's," and loved spending time there surrounded by loving friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on June 2, 2016 at St. Peter Church, Danbury.
