Speaker of the House Matt Ritter (D-Hartford) has appointed Rep. Raghib Allie-Brennan (D-Bethel, Danbury) as House Regional Energy Policy Liaison.

The House Regional Energy Policy Liaison will ensure Connecticut takes a leadership role in advancing multi-state energy policy alignment, supporting state-specific climate goals, and ensuring compliance with key regional agreements.
Speaker Matt Ritter said, “Appointing Raghib as the House Regional Energy Policy Liaison ensures Connecticut takes a leading role in shaping New England’s energy future. As former Chair of the House Select Committee on Sustainable and Renewable Energy and Vice Chair of the Energy and Technology Committee, Raghib has been a driving force in holding utilities accountable and advancing clean energy solutions. This role positions him to strengthen regional partnerships, align policies, and drive progress toward cleaner, more affordable, and reliable energy for all.”

As House Regional Energy Policy Liaison, Rep. Allie-Brennan will:
- Compile a “Connecticut Energy Policy Baseline Report” that identifies Connecticut’s state-specific energy goals, commitments to regional agreements (like RGGI), and current progress.
- Identify key performance metrics to track progress, and report findings to the Speaker of the House, legislative leadership, and relevant stakeholders.
- Position Connecticut as a regional leader and ensure compliance with regional agreements.
- Identify opportunities for cross-state policy alignment to accelerate progress and reduce costs.

Rep. Allie-Brennan represents the 2nd District which includes Bethel and Danbury.
