DHS Volleyball Team to Dig Pink Tonight

Submitted by reader Megan Pryor:

Join the undefeated  girl’s volleyball team in the Main Gym of DHS on Friday, Oct. 28 as they participate in Dig Pink. DHS, along with hundreds of high school and college teams from around the country will be taking part in the Dig Pink National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally promoting breast health education in the community and raising funds to help eradicate breast cancer. The Blue Wave girls will be battling the Trinity Catholic Crusaders in their last regularly scheduled game of the season. JV will take the court at 6:00 p.m., followed by Varsity at 7:00 p.m. Dig Pink attendees are asked to wear something pink in support of breast health awareness. Admission will be $5.00 and cancer survivors are admitted free of charge.

Donations to Dig Pink are also currently being accepted online. This is the DHS girls' fourth year participating in Dig Pink. They are hoping to reach their goal of $5,000.

The proceeds from all Dig Pink donations and ticket sales will benefit the Side-Out Foundation. The Side-Out Foundation was established in 2004 by a group of individuals drawn together by their love of volleyball along with their passion to be a part of the war against breast cancer. Side-Out's mission is to raise money for the war against breast cancer and to provide education and awareness about this disease through the recreational activity of volleyball.

The Girls team and the Side-Out Foundation thank our corporate sponsor Lanphier Day Spa and our supporters; Mama Carmela’s Deli, iTown, Whole Foods, Equinox, and Executive Printing for all their help and support.
